Provide your Oanda account details to connect your personal trading bot.

Environment

Choose between practice or live environment.

One bot per account. This is the single instrument the bot will trade.

Initial Trade Direction

For EUR/USD: choose Short if you expect EUR to weaken vs USD, and Long if you expect EUR to strengthen vs USD, based on your own due diligence. You can change this later from your Bot account settings.

Advanced settings (optional)

Warning: setting beyond 12 on a $2000 live account or beyond 14 on a $2500 live account can erode the available margin quickly when the market is against your trade.

Cap is 1.2. You can reduce it to 1.1 or 1.0 if you prefer.

Minimum 20 pips. Recommended 30 pips.

Need help completing onboarding?

  1. Sign up with OANDA
    Go to hub.oanda.com/apply and complete the application. Once approved, click Go to OANDA Hub. You can fund the account later.
  2. What TradeWithBot needs
    TradeWithBot requires two things from OANDA:
    • Account Number
    • API Key
  3. Start with Paper Trading (Recommended)
    On the OANDA dashboard (top-right), click your initials (LIVE) → Switch to Demo. You should now see DEMO mode enabled.
  4. Create an account (if needed)
    From the left menu, click Accounts.
    • One primary account is enough for one bot.
    • To run multiple bots, create sub-accounts: Add New Account → v20 → Name → USD → Create
  5. Generate API Key
    Top-right → Trading Tools → OANDA API → Generate. Save the API key securely—it’s shown only once.
  6. Onboard in TradeWithBot
    On this page and input the following details:
    • Enter OANDA Account No and API Key
    • Choose Practice (Demo) environment
    • Select Initial Trade Direction (applies only to the first trade; you can change it later from the dashboard):
      Short = bearish on EUR/USD
      Long = bullish on EUR/USD
  7. Switch to Live Trading (when ready)
    • In OANDA, switch from Demo to Live.
    • Refer Steps 4 & 5 to collect the API Key and Account Number from OANDA which are different for Demo and Live accounts.
    • Update the bot details in TradeWithBot Dashboard using the Edit icon.
    • Recommended live balance: $2,000–$2,500
